Florian Wirtz could reportedly become Liverpool's second-highest earner behind Mohamed Salah.
Talks are ongoing between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen, who want £120million for their star man, a fee which would smash the British transfer record.
Liverpool's latest offer was £109m and the Reds are confident of sealing their target after he was convinced by Arne Slot's blueprint for his involvement.
Richard Hughes, Liverpool’s sporting director, has proposed a package to his Leverkusen counterpart Simon Rolfes with easily attainable performance-related bonuses, such as Champions League qualification but the clubs are yet to agree a final fee.
German outlet Bild claims that Wirtz will be paid between £16.83m and £18.51m per season at Anfield, which would put him behind Salah and perhaps Virgil van Dijk. These matters are rarely an exact science due to bonuses.
Bild insists that Wirtz, 22, could have earned more had he opted for Bayern Munich, but the attacking midfielder decided against that.
'I don't even care about how much money I have in my account or what I might earn in the future,' he told Sports Illustrated Germany this year.
'Of course, you should make sure you get a good contract. But for me, the sporting perspective is much more important than the money.
'And I think my parents would be angry if I were too fixated on money. After I moved to Leverkusen at 16, my parents managed my salary and sent me 150 euros (£126) a month.
'That shaped me. It was important to my parents that I didn't do anything stupid with my salary.'
Talks between Bayer and Liverpool meanwhile continue as they attempt to find a middle ground for one of Europe's most wanted talents.
Wirtz has linked up with the German national team ahead of their fixture against Portugal and will look to build on his 29 caps on Wednesday night.
There is a possibility that Bayer could bring a Liverpool player to Germany as part of the deal.
Harvey Elliott and Jarell Quansah are both admired by Leverkusen, but Elliott won't be proposed as makeweight.
Liverpool have already successfully conducted business with Bayer this summer, signing Jeremie Frimpong for £29.5m last week.
Further talks are expected to take place this week with Bournemouth also for £45m-rated left-back Milos Kerkez.
