DO: Liverpool willing to offer £120m for Isak, Ekitike also on their radar

On July 15, according to The Athletic’s renowned journalist David Ornstein, Liverpool are prepared to table a £120 million bid for Alexander Isak, even though Newcastle consider him untouchable.

Liverpool have been in talks with Newcastle United over a deal for the Swedish striker. While no formal bid has been submitted yet, the Reds have made their intentions clear and are willing to pay around £120m to secure his signature.

The 25-year-old has long been on Liverpool’s radar, and Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike remains another target for the Merseyside club. However, Liverpool have yet to make official contact with Eintracht Frankfurt regarding the 23-year-old Frenchman.

Following the tragic death of Diogo Jota earlier this month, Liverpool’s situation remains highly sensitive — understandably so — but there is a recognition within the club of the need to strengthen the squad further this summer.
