The 2026 Ballon d'Or winner has been announced, with Bayern Munich's English striker Harry Kane taking home the award.
Kane is the fifth English player in history to win the Ballon d'Or. In total, English players have won the award six times.
Notably, three of these six awards have gone to English players competing for German clubs.
Kevin Keegan, playing for Hamburger SV, won the Ballon d'Or in 1978 and 1979 consecutively. Now Kane plays for German football giant Bayern Munich, also claiming the award.
