Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze has been urged to reconsider a summer move to Arsenal, with former Gunners defender Mikael Silvestre warning him a move to North London might not be wise.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for the 27-year-old, who reportedly had a £68 million release clause in his contract which expired on August 1st.

The club are yet to make an offer for Eze, however, as they continue to weigh their options ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Silvestre has since advised the England international to turn down the chance to join Arsenal, citing competition for places as the reason.

Speaking to Hajper, he said: "Eberechi Eze to Arsenal? I don't think it'd be good for him, to be honest, because there is a lot of competition and because he has so much joy and freedom at Crystal Palace.

“Going to Arsenal would, I think, be difficult because of the competition for places. But I like him a lot. Since his early days, he has been terrific.

“It’s a shame he's had quite a lot of muscle injuries, and he's missed some parts of the season. But whenever he's fit and ready, he is a top player."
