Jimenez pledges to overhaul Toure's perfect Premier League penalty record

Raul Jimenez outlined his confidence that he will overhaul Yaya Toure for the best 100% penalty record in the Premier League, following Fulham's 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Jimenez kept his cool from 12 yards in the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time at Craven Cottage, as Fulham shaded a low-key affair.

The Mexican has now taken 11 penalties in the Premier League for Wolves and Fulham, scoring all of them.

He has the joint-best 100% record from spot-kicks in Premier League history, alongside Manchester City icon Toure, and he intends to claim that record for himself at some stage.

"It's always what I do. I do it well, so it's something I have been practising my whole career," Jimenez told Sky Sports when asked about his stuttering spot-kick technique.

"I like to have this pressure with these penalties. I'm happy to score them.

"I've never missed. I'm really happy about that, so I want to keep doing it like that. There are more penalties to come, and I'll be there.

"It's a tough period with a lot of matches. I think we have five games in two weeks, so it's going to be tough, but we are going to be there ready for it."Jimenez's penalty was Fulham's first in the Premier League this season, leaving Aston Villa and Tottenham as the only teams in the competition yet to take one.

It was their first spot-kick in league action since January 5, when Jimenez twice converted from 12 yards in a 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town.

The victory moved Fulham 10 points clear of the relegation zone, and with a trip to 18th-placed West Ham to come on Saturday, they could put further distance between themselves and the bottom three.

"We knew it was going to be a tough game, but we did some good things on the pitch. Both halves, I think, were really tough," Jimenez continued.

"We know they're a team fighting at the bottom, but we are also there. We are happy with these three points."

Cottagers boss Marco Silva added: "We spoke before the match about how it's going to be important for us to get the three points and win again at home, and to have back-to-back Premier League wins after the last three points against Burnley.

"Those three points make more sense if you're then going to win at home, and we did it. We scored at an important moment of the game, before half-time. In the second half, we managed it well. I can't remember one chance from Forest."
