Manchester United are sitting pretty in the Premier League table after a dismal start to the campaign under Ruben Amorim
Manchester United and Ruben Amorim's stellar run continued on Saturday as they won their third Premier League match in a row. United sit sixth after their 4-2 victory against Brighton.
Head coach Amorim came under heavy fire at the start of the season and calls for him to be sacked grew after an embarrassing Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby Town. But things are now looking up.
United's form has improved dramatically and they have won five of their last seven games. Against Brighton, new signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo were on the scoresheet after signing for a combined initial £127million over the summer.
However, despite such firepower being recruited, the club have been linked with Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski. The iconic Polish striker is out of contract next summer and is reportedly of interest to Amorim, despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe initially blocking any potential move.

Robert Lewandowski handed boost
Lewandowski is reportedly on United's radar and although Ratcliffe has initially ruled out a move, he remains a player admired by manager Amorim.
His Barcelona side were defeated 2-1 in El Clásico on Sunday by bitter rivals Real Madrid, although Lewandowski was nowhere to be seen.
Among all this speculation, the Polish star had been sidelined due to injury. He suffered a hamstring issue while on international duty earlier this month. He played on for Poland with a bandage on his thigh but has subsequently been out for a few weeks.
But Barcelona and the 37-year-old were handed a big boost on Monday morning when he appeared for training. He completed a full session and the hope is that he will be available for the club's next La Liga fixture.
Ineos set to backtrack over stadium plans
In March, Ineos and Ratcliffe announced their intention to build a 100,000-seater arena constructed adjacent to the original Old Trafford. This venture was set a budget of around £2billion.
However, these ambitious plans for a massive new stadium have hit some roadblocks and a financial expert anticipates that the minority owners will backtrack on the arena's capacity.
"I expect to see compromises being made," expert Keiran Maguire told United In Focus. "We've already seen that with the somewhat laughable canopy idea being dropped.
"I would anticipate that the next big decision will be in terms of ground capacity. 100,000 seats is not necessary. I would be surprised if United can do this on budget."
Gary Nevile's hails star for 'settling' squad
Many of United's summer recruits have started to impress and one player who has landed a starting role under Amorim right away is goalkeeper Senne Lammens.
The Belgian arrived on deadline day from Royal Antwerp for £18.2m, with the position having been a problem to begin the campaign. United legend Gary Neville thinks his presence has helped settle the starting XI.
"The goalkeeper [Lammens] looks like he's a lot more solid and stable than the other two," admitted the ex-United defender on his The Gary Neville Podcast.
"I like goalkeepers who've got a composure to them, a relaxed manner. You can see it in the Lammens. He is somebody who looks composed, and that's not easy. I've said it before that the toughest job possible is to be the United goalkeeper. He's settled in well."
