However, this will not be a swift negotiation. Even if the forward eventually leaves Atlético Madrid, several steps remain. The ball is now in Alvarez's court—he must meet with Atlético Madrid's management to clarify both parties' positions.
Alvarez notes that Atlético Madrid has already held transfer talks with Paris Saint-Germain, demonstrating the club's willingness to sell. He wants to understand why Atlético Madrid refuses to extend the same consideration to Barcelona.
The forward is not currently interested in moves to Paris Saint-Germain or Arsenal. If he can convince Atlético Madrid to negotiate with Barcelona at this meeting, sporting director Deco will return to the table. Several weeks ago, he offered €100 million but received no response.
