Lamine Yamal has been named LaLiga Player of the Season after another sensational individual campaign for Barcelona.

Yamal played a starring role in 2025-26 for Hansi Flick's side, who were crowned LaLiga champions for the 29th time in their history after finishing ahead of rivals Real Madrid.

The 18-year-old finished the league season with 27 goal involvements (16 goals, 11 assists) across his 28 appearances, a total only bettered by Kylian Mbappe (30).

He also finished with a division-high total for completed dribbles (133), with only Luis Milla (78), Edu Exposito (82) and Pablo Fornals (85) creating more chances than Yamal's 72.

Regarding Yamal, Barcelona said: "He is the proverbial headache for opponent defences, who have to make a real effort to try to stop the Blaugrana's attacking threats.

"Beyond the intangibles, the young Catalan scored 16 goals ‌and provided 11 assists, with no other LaLiga player providing that many passes leading to goals."

Yamal is the fourth Barcelona player to win the award since it was introduced in 2008-09, joining Lionel Messi (nine times), Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Raphinha on that list.

The talented teenager missed Barcelona's last six games of the season with a hamstring injury, but he is expected to be fit to play for Spain at this summer's World Cup.

Yamal was not the only player to lift an award given by LaLiga. Flick won the Manager of the Year accolade for the second consecutive year after winning another top-flight title.

The 61-year-old has already put pen to paper on a new contract with the Blaugrana, keeping him with the LaLiga giants until June 2028 as he eyes more silverware.

Among Barcelona coaches to have managed five games, only Tito Vilanova (2.84) and Pep Guardiola (2.45) have averaged more points per game in LaLiga than Flick (2.43).

In the club's history, only two managers have won three consecutive LaLiga titles.

Johan Cruyff won four in a row between 1990-91 and 1993-94, while Guardiola produced a three-peat from 2008-09 to 2010-11.
