ESPN: Messi is considering move to a more competitive league before the World Cup
According to ESPN Argentina's Esteban Edul, the contract extension between Messi and Inter Miami has been put on hold, and the player is considering joining another team before the World Cup.
The reporter stated that Messi told him on Friday that he plans to play for another team six months before the World Cup, which will start in January next year.
Messi and Inter Miami were originally preparing to extend the contract, but it has been put on hold for now. If he wants to go to a more competitive league, that is certainly welcome. But it is not clear where he wants to go at present.
Messi signed a contract with Inter Miami in July 2023, which is valid until December 31, 2025.
