Kyle Walker has announced his retirement from international football just three months before England begin their 2026 World Cup campaign.

Walker, who made 96 appearances for the Three Lions since his debut in 2011, confirmed his decision on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old defender featured under four managers in Fabio Capello, Roy Hodgson, Gareth Southgate and Thomas Tuchel during his 14-year stint on the international stage.
Walker was a main part of the sides that reached two European Championship finals under Southgate, as well as the final four of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
However, the Burnley full-back has fallen out of favour under Tuchel, last pulling on the England shirt in a 3-1 friendly defeat to Senegal in June 2025.
Walker ends his England career as the 10th-most capped player to ever feature for the Three Lions.
"After more than a decade representing my country, I have decided to retire from international football," Walker said in a post to Instagram.
"Playing for England has always been the biggest honour of my career and something I will always be proud of.
"Thank you to every team-mate, coach, manager, the 12th man, and everyone behind the scenes who has been part of the journey.
"Every roar from the fans pushed the team along, and I'm looking forward to joining them to support the lads in the World Cup.
"The memories in an England shirt will stay with me forever.
"I also want to thank my family for their support every step of the way. They have made this journey even more special, and I will always be grateful to have shared it with them."

Walker made his debut for England in a 1-0 win against Spain in a friendly 15 years ago, coming on as a late substitute for Scott Parker, who is now his manager at Burnley.
He netted just once for the Three Lions, which came against Ukraine in September 2023.
In June 2024, Walker was named as England's vice-captain for Euro 2024.
And current England boss Tuchel said that Walker's international career will see him remembered as one of the greats to represent his country.
"I know all England fans will join me in congratulating Kyle on an incredible international career," Tuchel added.
"Although I only worked with him for a short period, I was always aware that he was one of England's greats who fully embraced the highest honour of representing his country.
"An international career spanning 14 years and five major tournaments is testament to Kyle's dedication. He can look back on his time with the Three Lions with great pride."
