Everton star Iliman Ndiaye has finally responded to transfer rumours as Inter Milan seek his signature.
Last month, The Athletic reported that there was an enquiry from Inter Milan for Ndiaye, valuing the Senegal forward at around £40M. The report states that the offer was immediately rejected by Everton who are keen to hang on to the 25-year-old.
Responding to the speculation over a month later, the Senegal international said: “I was always very keen to stay here and be part of this new chapter for Everton.
“As I always say, if there are rumours or interest like that, it must mean you’re doing something right, right?
“I’m really happy to be at this club and be part of a new project with the new stadium, new ownership.
“I want to achieve things with Everton, I want to win trophies, which the club hasn’t seen for too long and things like that. It’s an aim for us to work towards. You know, winning a trophy would be huge for this club and for the supporters, but also for me. It’s an ambition of mine, too.”
Ndiaye enjoyed an impressive maiden season on Merseyside, scoring 11 goals in 37 appearances to help Everton finish 13th in the Premier League.
The club have not won a trophy in three decades but under manager David Moyes anything is possible and silverware could be the key to keeping the likes of Ndiaye at the club as they chase down success.
