Joe Hart has backed Benjamin Šeško to improve at Manchester United following Rúben Amorim’s 1-1 draw against Leeds on Sunday afternoon.

Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw by Leeds on Sunday afternoon, with Brenden Aaronson and Matheus Cunha on the scoresheet.
United stood up well to Leeds’ aggressive start, matching their intensity during the opening exchanges. Opportunities came and went for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cunha, but a breakthrough proved elusive for both sides in the first half.
The pattern continued after the interval until Leeds struck first through Aaronson. United responded swiftly, with Cunha levelling the score for Rúben Amorim’s side with 25 minutes remaining.
Both teams pushed for a winner late on, but a lack of quality in the final third ensured the contest ended all square.
Hart points out positive for Šeško
Speaking with TNT Sports in the second half of the tie, former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart took the time to analyse Cunha’s goal. After ex-United midfielder Owen Hargreaves waxed lyrical about the finish, Hart was keen to point out the impact Benjamin Šeško had on the moment.
Although it was Joshua Zirkzee who played Cunha through with a lovely pass, he wouldn’t have had the chance had Šeško not done very well to cushion the ball in front of the Dutchman.
“The timing of it as well, three minutes later, so important to kill off any potential momentum that Leeds could have got,” Hart said.
“This place was bouncing, you know, we were watching it, we were watching, we were running the Leeds fans and the Man United fans, and they were letting them know they were winning a lot.
“It was a beautiful interchange, and I thought just using Šeško, that’s what you’ve got them on the field for, the one-touch sets into Zirkzee, and then running off him, and they time it to perfection.”
Amorim happy with improving United performances
After the result, United boss Amorim was also asked how he had assessed the 1-1 draw, to which he singled out three players for praise.
As well as agreeing with Hart that Šeško did well to link United’s play, the Portuguese manager also felt that Zirkzee and Manuel Ugaret both showed that they have plenty to give.
“Josh [Zirkzee] played well in the 20 minutes he had, Ben [Šeško] linked the play well today, Ugarte is showing that he has more to give, and I am really pleased,” Amorim told TNT Sports.
“If these guys play well, we always have the chance to win the game.”
