Kane: It wasn't my best performance, but I can't be too down about missing the penalty

In Matchday 8 of the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich drew 2-2 at home with Borussia Dortmund. After the match, Kane spoke to beIN Sports about his performance, Der Klassiker, and how it felt to share the Ballon d'Or with his family and fans before the game.

Harry, thank you so much for joining us. What an incredible week it's been! Were there too many emotional ups and downs today?

I don't know. It was obviously a fantastic start to the week. Winning the Ballon d'Or was incredible, the whole evening and the days after. But coming back, I tried to focus on the next game. I knew we had a lot of important matches ahead, and today's game was as important as it gets.

It wasn't my best performance, or the team's best performance, but sometimes that's how it goes. I missed a penalty and a few other chances. I know the result isn't ideal, but that's the life of a footballer, and the life of a striker, so you can't get too down about it. As I said, it's been a week of many ups and downs, and I've experienced a lot of things I'm not used to. I tried to deal with it all in the best way possible. But at the end of the day, we have to put this game behind us and move forward.

Speaking of Der Klassiker, do you treat this match like any other, or is it special?

I think it's special. You see the atmosphere around the game, and you see the fans and everyone involved. But at the end of the day, they are a very good Bundesliga team. We weren't at our best today, and they still got a point from this game. So there's nothing to be ashamed of; they are a very good team. Without a doubt, we feel we could have done better in certain situations.

But overall, I think it was a tough night. The injuries in the squad weren't ideal either. So at this stage of the season, you have to put it all aside.

Last question: how did you feel about that wonderful, emotional moment before the match?

It was fantastic. It was a special moment, with my family, the team, and the fans in the stadium. You don't really think about these things before the game, but to be able to celebrate it all, I'm very grateful to everyone involved. My children, my family, and everyone who was part of it: I'm grateful to all of them.
