Kane's feelings on Tottenham return with clause active in January

England captain Harry Kane has been strongly linked with a return to Tottenham should he leave Bayern Munich and he has now spoken out emphatically on a potential move back to North London

Harry Kane insists that he’s not even thinking about a return to Tottenham despite links with an emotional reunion. The England captain has consistently been rumoured to be mulling over a move back to North London since leaving for German giants Bayern Munich.

Kane has a release clause written into his contract at the club, albeit that would only become active should the striker ask to leave the Allianz Arena in January. The 32-year-old has regularly discussed his happiness at life in Germany and has now admitted that he is not even putting thought into a move away.

“I’m not sure (if I’ll go back),” Kane said to Mail Online. 'I’m very happy here in Munich. It’s not something I'm thinking about.

“It’ll always be 'we' (with Spurs) because I spent my whole life there. I’m a fan of them and will always watch them and see how they’re getting on. They will always be a part of my life for sure but as for now, I’m loving it here.

“It was great to see (them win a trophy this year). I’ve got a lot of friends there with the players and staff.

“We know how long we waited and how close we’d come in the past so it was big for everyone - the fans, the club and all involved to have that feeling and get that one over the line. That’s always important and hopefully they can push on and win more.”

Kane has enjoyed a dream spell in Munich so far, having fired the German side to the Bundesliga title last term. His record sits at an eye-watering 103 goals in just 106 appearances in all competitions.

And it appears that he is in no mood to slow down any time soon. He added: “It’s such a big club. I wanted to experience something different, a different league and a different culture.

“Bayern are known around Europe every year as one of the best and one of the favourites to win the Champions League. I wanted to test myself at that level and I’ve loved it on and off the pitch. It feels like my second home now. I’m enjoying every moment of it and hopefully it continues.”

Kane netted twice in his most recent outing for England as the Three Lions beat Latvia 5-0 - a result that saw them book their spot at next summer’s World Cup. The striker will now turn his attention back to his club commitments as Bayern take on fierce rivals Borussia Dortmund at the weekend.

Kane’s contract with Bayern is set to run until 2027. He has however been urged by former Spurs star Gus Poyet to consider a switch to Barcelona.
