According to Bild, Bayer Leverkusen's connection with Brazil has lasted for decades. To date, a total of 24 Brazilian players have joined Bayer Leverkusen, more than from any other country. Last summer, Bayer Leverkusen also became the first German club to train at Flamengo's training base in Rio de Janeiro.

On Thursday, Fernando Carro (61) watched Germany's 1-2 loss to Ecuador live in New Jersey. Next week (July 2-6), the Bayer Leverkusen CEO will lead a club delegation to Brazil during the Copa América. Carro's destinations are São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, with the trip focusing on social projects and further strengthening the club's influence in this important international football market.

First, Carro will attend the first anniversary celebration of the "Bayer Leverkusen 04 Football Academy" in São Paulo, where club legend Paulo Sérgio (57) will also be present. In Rio de Janeiro, the itinerary includes a visit to the charitable project "Bola Pra Frente". This project was founded by former Bayer Leverkusen player Jorginho (61).

The club announced before departure: "1994 World Cup winner Jorginho and his organization have helped thousands of children in the area through sports and community projects. During this visit, details of a new, long-term partnership between Bayer Leverkusen 04 and 'Bola Pra Frente' will be announced."

Carro stated: "Brazil is a core part of Bayer Leverkusen 04's international strategy. In recent years, we have established close ties across Brazil through football, solid partnerships, and meaningful initiatives. This visit is an excellent opportunity to further strengthen these ties and continue our long-term investment in this important football market."
