Manchester United slipped to their fourth defeat of the season against Atletico Madrid with defender Lisandro Martinez issuing a withering assessment of the goings on at Old Trafford
Lisandro Martinez tore into Manchester United's hierarchy in the aftermath of their defeat to Atletico Madrid.
The Red Devils slipped to their fourth defeat of the campaign in Spain on Tuesday night. They had a woeful start with Pablo Barrios giving Atletico the lead within the opening minute.
Ademola Lookman doubled the lead shortly after Leny Yoro's red card. The defeat leaves United with just two wins in all competitions this season.
But Martinez has suggested that the fault is not with the players and instead took aim at those running the club.

Speaking to Amazon Prime Video, he said: “Really poor. Really poor. I have to control myself a lot but sometimes is a reflection of the mirror of how is our club at the moment.
"We did a fantastic season last season and now we expect more from the top, more players to compete because many teams bring many players as well. Atletico have an amazing team and they deserve to win today.
"I expect more [investment]. 100%. I expect more from our technical director [Jason Wilcox]. I have to be honest, as players we have to do more but it is also important when you make a strong squad to be ready for this kind of night."

Asked which areas could have been strengthened, the Argentine defender said: "In general. Last season we did everything, we created the base to create an amazing team.
"It is annoying, disappointing coming here and I am not seeing my team trying to get an amazing result here."
Asked if any of the fault could be with boss Michael Carrick: "I don't think so. He does his best. Every season is different. You can't stay with what you did last season. The teams knows how you play, they know every detail, if you don't change next season is a big problem.
"You can't keep changing, changing, changing the manager. What about other areas? I can't say more. Tonight it is easy to say the coach, easy to say the players but also we have to see other areas."
United spent around £150m strengthening their side in the summer ahead of Carrick's first full season at the helm, albeit all of their investment came in midfield. Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos were signed from Aston Villa and Chelsea respectively, while Carlos Baleba completed a big-money move from Brighton.
Tielemans was asked about Martinez's comments after the full-time whistle but simply replied: “I’ve got no comment on that.”
United boss Carrick was also probed about Martinez's comments. He said:"I haven't seen it. After a game like this you come here to try and get something from the game and you are disappointed and can be emotional. I have not seen it so I don't think it is the right time to comment.
"We all care and show that in different ways but now is the time to be together and work through."
United icon Wayne Rooney also spoke out on Martinez's comments and criticised the former Ajax man for his rant, particularly with United in such a difficult spot. He said: "It's disrespectful to his team-mates, he's saying his team-mates aren't good enough.
"I think Bruno is the only one who has the right to say this. That interview is not going to help the situation the club are in at the minute."
