Nottingham Forest has rejected Manchester City's two previous offers for the England midfielder and has consistently demanded an asking price close to £130 million. The two clubs will continue discussions, and if a deal is reached, the total fee is expected to exceed the £125 million Liverpool paid for Isak last summer, surpassing the £105 million Arsenal paid for Rice three years ago.
Anderson is regarded as the ideal fit for Maresca's midfield system, capable of performing effectively in the manager's preferred tactical setup. Maresca is set to replace Guardiola after Manchester City negotiated a compensation package with Chelsea and will sign a three-year contract with City.
