TYRELL MALACIA is set to see out his Manchester United contract after talks with Turkish side Eyupspor broke down.
SunSport revealed that the Super Lig outfit made contact with United this week over a possible season-long loan move for the final ‘Bomb Squad’ outcast.
But sources have confirmed that nothing has progressed any further between Malacia and Eyupspor, with hours left of the extended Turkish transfer window.
It appears the Dutch full-back, whose contract ends next summer, has no plans on joining Eyupspor, who were linked with Kieran Trippier and released Prem cult hero Jonjo Shelvey in January.
Malacia has been training away from the rest of Ruben Amorim's squad since the beginning of pre-season, and it seems he wants to remain at the club where he earns £75,000-per-week until January.
The Turkish window closes today, and United will hope the Dutchman changes his mind in the coming hours.
Goalkeeper merry-go-round
A SMALLER version of the Manchester derby could take place approximately 1,660 miles away in Turkey this weekend.
Andre Onana and Ederson could face off against each other when Fenerbahçe host Trabzonspor immediately after the full-time whistle is blown at the Etihad on Sunday.
Ederson joined Fenerbahce on deadline day, while Onana signed a season-long loan on Trabzonspor on Thursday.
If both keepers are selected to start for their new clubs, it would pit two former rivals against each other for a unique subplot to their new lives in the Super Lig.
City signing Gianluigi Donnarumma and Senne Lammens joining United prompted Galatasaray to move for Trabzonspor keeper Uğurcan Çakır, which left a space for Onana to fill in the void at the latter.
Back in the Premier League, the Manchester derby threatened to be determined by who is between the sticks.
In the blue corner, James Trafford will be battling for a starting spot with Donnarumma, while Altay Bayindir has been looking over his shoulder at Lammens.
The two bitter rivals shared the same predicament: stick with your current first-choice option or allow the new signings the opportunity to impress.
But Bayindir has now got the nod to stay in goal with Lammens perhaps too fresh to be thrown in against Pep Guardiola’s side for his debut.
Title race
MASON MOUNT has his very own personalised racing wheel for the Formula One simulator at Carrington.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe opened a brand new £50million training ground before the start of the season with a top of the range gym, canteen, swimming pool, sauna and smart urinals.
But it’s the new F1 simulator room that’s become a hub for the players.
The squad have created a ‘Silverstone leaderboard’ on a whiteboard, with a secret pole sitter who has the initials M.W.
And racing enthusiast Mount, who has recorded the second fastest lap, has seemingly paid for his own controls to catch up.
First team fringe goalkeeper Dermot Mee, 22, spends the most time on the simulator and is third fastest for his efforts.
Fresh face
MATHEUS CUNHA was caught checking himself out on the hairdressing mirror during a recent player-led tour of Carrington.
Tom Heaton and Matthijs De Ligt hosted a behind-the-scenes look into the new ground and the cameras picked up Cunha sorting his hair out at the new barbers.
As the duo turned the corner, De Ligt said: “Look, no surprise who is in there.”
Popular social media hair stylist Cal Newsome is the official club barber and has already spent plenty of time with Cunha, who is out of the derby, and Benjamin Sesko.
In for the ‘kill’
MAN CITY’S summer signing Rayan Cherki will have to wait to “kill” United after being ruled out of Sunday’s mega clash.
The Frenchman and former club Lyon suffered a dramatic quarter-final exit at Old Trafford in April after losing a 4-2 lead in extra time.
Cherki scored in both legs of the tie and videos emerged of him celebrating his thunderous effort at United by grabbing his crotch in front of the home supporters.
The 22-year-old, who joined City for an initial fee of £30.45m, laughed when asked about the incident, but confessed he has United in his sights this season.
He said: "I didn’t like it when United won the game against Lyon because I am a Lyonnais
"Now I am waiting for the game to kill them."
But Cherki will be forced to wait until the reverse fixture at Old Trafford on January 17.
Brazilian coffee
CASEMIRO loves Espresso.
The Brazilian has his own designated coffee spot in the club canteen where he enjoys his favourite brew every morning.
His daily routine shows he's quite particular about his coffee, and it seems to be an important part of his ritual at the club.
The former Madrid star, 33, was sent home early from Brazil’s World Cup qualifying camp after picking up a suspension for their final game against Bolivia.
But boss Carlo Ancelotti said “Casemiro is irreplaceable” after Brazil’s shock 1-0 defeat saw Bolivia qualify for their first World Cup since 1994, with Brazil already having secured a spot.
Legends shirts
United Legends' match-worn shirts have been put up for sale - with one already fetching a £790 bid.
United lost 6-5 on penalties to Celtic Legends in Glasgow on Saturday after a 2-2 draw.
Darren Fletcher and Dimitar Berbatov established a 2-0 lead before Scott McDonald and Shaun Maloney forced a shootout.
Shirts from each of the Reds involved – plus one from manager Bryan Robson – are included in the auction, and will feature the players’ name to the back of the shirt and their hand-signed autograph.
According to the website, one supporter has bid £1 for Luke Chadwick’s shirt, while another has tabled £790 for Robson’s and £719 for Michael Carrick’s.
The auction will run until 2pm BST on Saturday and fans can join in on the action at MatchWornShirt.com.
Giggs returns to Old Trafford
OLD TRAFFORD is hosting a national football conference next month - and United legend Ryan Giggs has been hired as a guest speaker.
Giggs and current club keeper Heaton will address an annual, two-day meeting on October 7 hosted by Training Ground Guru, a media platform for football's "backroom" staff and industry professionals.
It comes after Giggs was snubbed from the Premier League Hall of Fame again this week.
Monday’s list contained seven of his former team-mates, including Patrice Evra, Teddy Sheringham, Gary Neville, Michael Carrick, Nemanja Vidic, Edwin van der Sar and Michael Owen.
Giggs is the Prem’s most decorated player with 13 league titles and remains the all-time assist leader at 162 and third-highest appearance maker.
His brother Rhodri hit out at his omission by sharing an old video of the ex-winger in his prime with the caption: “#TheShamHallOfFame”.
