Paris Saint-Germain defeated Barcelona 4-2 at home in the third round of the Champions League group stage. This marks the fourth time PSG has scored four goals against Barcelona in a single Champions League match, a feat no other team has achieved more often.
The previous three instances occurred in knockout stages across different seasons: in the first leg of the 2016/17 Champions League Round of 16, PSG beat Barcelona 4-0 at home; in the first leg of the 2020/21 Champions League Round of 16, PSG won 4-1 away; and in the second leg of the 2023/24 Champions League Quarter-finals, PSG again defeated Barcelona 4-1 away.
