“I think it wouldn't be understandable if the World Cup final wasn't played in Spain. Our country has 55% of the organizational weight, so it's logical that the final be played here.”

Rafael Louzan, president of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), spoke ahead of the World Cup, which Spain will host in five years, along with Portugal and Morocco, as well as some matches played in South America. “Neither Valencia nor Vigo are among the pre-selected cities, even though they are ready,” he stated. “FIFA will have the final say. The impact on GDP will be 5 billion euros, with 2.5 billion euros invested in the renovation of stadiums.”
