Real Madrid spent €909.5 million in transfer fees to build its current squad, the highest in La Liga, followed by Barcelona's €489.5 million. Barcelona's lower spending is partly due to their squad featuring many academy graduates. Málaga spent the least, with their current squad mainly composed of free transfers and loans, totaling only €680,000.
