Roma whiz Matias Soule has shutdown talk of committing to Italy.
Yet to be capped at competitive level by Argentina, Soule's agent has raised the prospect of him turning out for Rino Gattuso's Italy.
But Argentine told Il Messaggero: "No one from Italy has contacted me since, and even if they did, I'd say 'no thanks.' My plan, as always, is to play for the Seleccion.
"Has anything changed since those words (from my agent)? No, everything is the same. I feel Argentine, I am Argentine. I also told Spalletti that, and I thank him. My idea is still the same: to play for Argentina. Maybe my agent was a little angry when he read (Argentina coach Lionel) Scaloni's call-ups."
Soule also said: "Of course I know it's not easy because there are many strong players there. I'm obviously pleased by the interest of a strong, historic national team like the Italian one. I'm proud of it, but I won't change my mind. I'd like to play for the team of the country where I was born."
On his future with Roma, the winger added: " Of course, I see myself at Roma for a long time. I think it's everyone's dream, to aspire to certain goals in this shirt. If I close my eyes, I imagine being here for life. I know for myself things can change, but this is my desire."
