The Pharaohs wasted no time asserting dominance, opening the scoring in just the 4th minute through I. Issa, who capitalized on an early chance to put Egypt ahead. That early breakthrough set the tone for what would become a one-sided encounter.
Saudi Arabia struggled to contain Egypt’s fluid attacking movements, and their defensive frailties were exposed again in the 16th minute when Trezeguet doubled the lead, finishing off a well-worked move assisted by Mohamed Hany.
Egypt continued to dictate the tempo and were rewarded just before halftime. Zizo added a third in the 44th minute, effectively putting the game beyond reach heading into the break.
The second half offered little respite for the Saudis. Omar Marmoush completed the rout in the 56th minute, calmly finishing after being set up by Ahmed Fotouh to seal an emphatic victory.
Despite enjoying the chunk of possession, Saudi Arabia failed to convert control into meaningful chances, highlighting a lack of cutting edge in the final third. In contrast, Egypt were clinical, making the most of their opportunities with sharp finishing and cohesive attacking play.
