Virgil van Dijk, defender and captain of the Reds, said into the Sky Sport microphones at the end of a 3-2 victory secured by Liverpool in the dying minutes against Atlético Madrid in the Champions League.
"Today I was lucky to score the winning goal. I think we were dangerous in set pieces, there was a bit of wrestling in the box but I'm happy we managed to win. However, we could have avoided getting into this situation."
"Obviously you would never want to end up winning in those moments, but we work so hard during the week to dominate. However, if it's necessary to find goals in the end, we have to do it; it's a matter of mentality. We should have avoided reaching this point, but we're still working and we have to keep going like this."
