According to Spanish media outlet Eldesmarque, Atletico Madrid is seeking a replacement for Antoine Griezmann, with Roma forward Matias Soulé emerging as a target. However, Roma is demanding €40 million for the Argentine, and competition from Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, and several Premier League clubs could complicate negotiations.

Atletico Madrid must accelerate its summer transfer business after a sluggish start to the window. Sporting Director Mateu Alemany has identified clear priorities: a centre-back, a full-back, a midfielder, and a striker to replace Griezmann. Soulé is among the candidates being considered for that attacking role.
According to La Roma 24, Atletico Madrid is one of several clubs interested in Soulé. A deal would bring another Argentine to Atletico's squad, though Roma's €40 million asking price presents a significant obstacle. Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are also pursuing the forward, with Dortmund reportedly the frontrunner. Soulé is contracted to Roma until 2029, with Transfermarkt valuing him at €35 million.
However, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed that Soulé prefers a move to the Premier League, with Aston Villa and West Ham United both interested in the forward, leaving his future uncertain.
For now, Atletico Madrid's interest in Soulé has not reached an advanced stage. Nevertheless, securing a Griezmann replacement is a priority this summer. Should additional forwards like Alexander Sørloth or Julián Álvarez depart, Atletico would face a substantial rebuilding of their attacking line. As it stands, Atletico Madrid has yet to complete any significant transfers.
